Sqale Rewards

Hi, I am David Pinto, investor/designer of the underlying economic and co-founder of Sqale Ltd.

I’ve wanted to reward early-adopters with equity but traditional legal costs to set this up are prohibitively expensive as a startup. I’ve worked out a way of doing it — this personal pledge. Here’s how it works.

£1m to First 1,000 users and more…

I can only do this when we have enough ‘profit’. From me to the First 1,000 people who register on the Sqale app. That means that if you are one of the first 1,000 users, you will be getting £1,000 when we take off. By way of thanks.

You can check how this might look like live on the app at Rewards : Usership tab. Obviously we will need to validate users, ensure one user per account etc. But the intention, I hope, is clear. You tried the app, you deserve reward.

If you are not one of the first 1,000 people, I aim to distribute dividends from my shares in Sqale Ltd. I’ll go into that in a little more detail in the next section. I can’t promise the numbers below will be exact, because who knows how many shares I’ll have to sell as our start-up scales in the traditional economy. But the principle will remain — to share the dividends from revenue raised with all registered users of Sqale.

Number of Users Registered% Distributed
First 1,000 users1%
First 10,000 users2%
First 100,000 users4%
First 1,000,000 users8%
Total of 15% dividends to registered users.

Notice, the reward above is not for people who have shared or used the app. Such a condition would be an incentive to share for sure, but I don’t like that kind of incentive. No, the reward above is for accepting the invite. So, you get a reward because your friend invited you. You will have your friend to thank for your £1,000 for being part of this world-changing app, regardless if you use the app or not. So, what about the people who do use the app and help us take-off?

£1m for First £10k Money Converted, and more…

I will give £1m to the people who convert the first £10k money into credits. If you convert any money into credits, which effectively funds the various projects and products in Sqale, I will reward you with 100x what you put in. So, if you convert £100 into 10,000 Credits, you’ll get £10,000. This I promise, again, only when we take off.

A similar distribution of my dividends from Sqale Ltd is presented below. The objective is to run the economics in parallel. Every single £-$ converted into Credits gives more power to the economic enabled by the web-app. We all become more successful since there’s more credits to go around. Ultimately, I’d like to think, we may shift entirely from the traditional economic, the repercussions of which are unimaginable. A shift from an economic based on exchange, to one based on sharing… a new world awaits. But it depends on people giving it a go now. Hence, this reward.

Money Converted into Credits% Distributed
first £10,000 (1m Credits)1%
first £100,000 (10m Credits)2%
first £1,000,000 (100m Credits)4%
first £10,000,000 (1b Credits)8%
Another 15% dividends distributed to user.

An investor may snap up this deal and quickly convert £10k into credits. This provides an ROI of x100 when we take off, and 1% of dividends in perpetuity. So… share with good-minded folks so your friends have an opportunity to invest.

£1m to Our Supporters and more…

And this final reward is for folks who Support us directly, within the app. The first £100k equivalent in Credits given as Support generates ROI of x10. You support Sqale products, projects, etc, so we can improve the web-app, then you are investing in the development of the web-app. You support us with £100, I will reward you with £1000 when we take off.

Of course, those credits you give in Support of Sqale are distributed to the team-members, me and Andrew and coders and designers, and so on. It isn’t going to be easy to tally this, but the data will be there and so the following distribution should be feasible once validated.

Direct Sqale Support% Distributed
first £10,0001%
first £100,0002%
first £1,000,0004%
first £10,000,0008%
Another 15% dividends distributed to our supporters.

When we take off, we will need to create another version of the web-app which will cost around £0.5m. Server costs are considerable, of course. This enables us to compete with FB, Twitter, Linked-In, Google, all the big boys.

Why Am I Doing This?

Remember — your use of Sqale, and your loyalty to Sqale, will give us the biggest chance of changing the world. I’m not interested in ‘owning’ a billion-dollar company, or becoming a trillionaire. I am committed to giving humanity a chance to face the massive environmental disorder we face and the entrenched politico-economic problems traditional economics traps us in. Sqale is a chance, that’s all it is. And your involvement in making it happen is everything. If we make it happen, we buy ourselves a chance, and give our children and their children a world we may call home.

So, here’s my request to you when giving these rewards. It is not for what you’ve done, but what you continue to do. And it is this: be wary of copy-cat protocols. FB, Linked-In, etc will copy our economic method. If you let it, they will probably only copy the bits which keeps their companies in profit. They may just copy the virality mechanism. They may not implement the fair-share that comes with the clean gratitude and value metrics we are employing. Keeping Sqale Ltd alive is not my long-term goal. Sure, it needs to exist within the traditional economic. But enough so that both economics run in parallel.

Each of us, in our daily actions, will determine our global future. No excuses. Whether we use money to buys stuff and sell our time, or we use credits to share value and commit to achieving objectives we believe in — the choice is ours, individually. Make the Decision.

I don’t know if the economic provided by Sqale will work at scale, literally globally. Honestly, nobody can know. However, I want to give it a go. And for those who register, who convert money, who support us directly — thank you. We’re in this together.

Whatever happens, hold me to the promise I make today.

Be well

David Pinto

PS: We are at beta when I write this. We haven’t stripped out the ‘test users’ — literally users named ‘Test Testing” by our coders during development! The above rewards only make sense once we scale with sufficient moneyflow. And when we do, usership will include only those who email validate; perhaps we will also have integrated a bio-validation to ensure each of us has one account, something Google with all its might failed to achieve. As they say, times-are-a-changing.
